Came in earlier because my car was stuck in 'park'. The tow guy helped fiddle with the gears so I could drive it over (I live less than a mile away) and I was worried it'd run up hundreds of dollars - mind you, my car's old and not worth that trouble - I just need it to drive, period. Luckily, it was a minor issue and the mechanic fixed it in minutes - for free, too. Definitely coming back.

Good guys over here at Funk Bros. I know a good amount about car stuff, but I like to kinda let the repair guys tell me whats wrong and then compare it to what I thought in the first place. I have a 1982 Chevy truck that is a little rough and needs some love. Funk bros. was helpful in letting me know what needed to be done and telling me the truth about my truck. They even fixed my door that was a little loose! These guys are trustworthy and I will def. let them work on all my other cars in the future!

I brought in my crappy 1989 minivan for transmission problems. They talked me through all the different possibilities of what could be wrong, and did not push me toward taking any action. In fact, they told me to hold off on changing the transmission fluid until they had a chance to test drive it and check it out. Then he ended up putting 3 quarts of transmission fluid in my car for FREE so he could see if it ran any better. It did. All the diagnostics, test drive, advice, and fluid was free. They called me at every step of the way to get my consent. I ended up deciding not to do anything, given the age of my car -- and so I picked it up full of transmission fluid, without ever paying a dime. Honest, thorough, professional, and will not force you into anything. If I were going to stay in LA, this is where I would bring my car!

This is a shop right off of Ivar and you for sure have driven by it if you've ever gone to the ArcLight. Of course I am not originally from LA. Living in Colorado growing up is a little different from California so naturally you are always cautious in making choices and trusting people. Especially being a girl who doesn't know much about cars. Funk Brothers is truly fair in what they charge, they have the work done quick, and I never feel like I have to question what they do. Not to mention that I drive a lot for work so God knows how much they've done for my car. I couldn't be any happier.

Funk Bros. saved my car! Hovig and his team are truly admirable. They are professional, honest, thorough, and a pleasure to work with. My mobility was in their hands and they not only preformed a triple bypass surgery on it to save it, but returned it to me quicker than I would have ever anticipated. These guys are seriously the best! They installed new rear struts for over $300 less than Pep Boys quoted me! They were super nice and didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. I have gone back twice for a check engine light and a tire leak - they were able to check it out right away and didn't charge me :) Hovig is very helpful and explains everything. I can't tell you how great it is to find a trustworthy mechanic in Hollywood. I definitely recommend this place!

These guys truly are the best in town. Not only do they service modern vehicles, but also older cars like my '66 Beetle. It's great to know when a home wrencher like me can't get all the air out of his brakelines he can bring it to Funk Bros and they'll happily get the brakes working right and fast!

As we all know, car drama sucks!! I've driven the same car for the last nine years, and I want to make it one more year. So a good mechanic is like having a good hair dresser (for me at least). They were amazing, when I say amazing (not as amazing as my new hair dresser, but damn good for an auto spot- they have birds and a fish tank...) I won't bore you the actual problem (good thing is, he actually found it). He suggested the least expensive option for me to try and then we ran the test, afterwards he never insisted on my getting it fixed right away since it's not a major deal and will have no effect on my engine. To sum it up - Funk Brothers is honest and quick! And they know what customer service is!

My husband has used these guys for years, so when we got married I started bringing my car there too. It is unbelievable how honest they are and how nice. And their prices are beyond reasonable. This is the only auto place I have ever been that has talked me OUT of repairs. A few years ago, I brought my Jetta in with a coolant leak and a possible problem with the electrical system. Peter outlined how much it would cost to fix both and then strongly recommended I get a new car instead of doing the repairs -- that in his experience, once the Jetta started to have problems it was all down hill from there. I'd heard that from other Jetta owners, too, so I took his advice and have been taking my new car to Funk as well. Recently several warning lights came on in our Prius, so my husband took it into Funk. They ran a diagnostic and discovered the problem would be covered under our warranty. They called the dealership to let them know my husband was bringing the car in and did not charge us for the diagnostic. Another time, when I was getting ready to go on a very long road trip, I took the car in because I thought my tires wouldn't make it through the journey. They checked the tires and assured me they could handle the number of miles I was planning to drive AND took the time to show me how to check the tires myself so I would know when they needed to be replaced. I could go on and on about these guys, but go see for yourself!
