Ask for Peter...have been doing business with him since early '80's...always fair, honest, and upfront...and trustworthy...a rarity in this type of business!

The owner, Hovig, is such a great person to deal with, always friendly and always trying to help out. I've been taking my truck there for a while now and have always felt satisfied with their work. They are very fast, efficient and flexible, always honest. The don't charge an arm and a leg for small things either, in fact, he's given a lot of free services. He also helped when I got into a major accident to find a body shop. Always good servicing and professional skills, always honest and always on time.

I would like to share some suggestions with you fabulous readers and inquirers... First off, do not take advice from a reviewer who cannot even make a coherent sentence, let alone use proper grammar = untrustworthy. Secondly, please shy away from reviews full of unnecessary foul language because that is obviously to the extent of their vocabulary. Thirdly, I would undoubtedly trust Funk Bros. with my life. I go here rather frequently with a steady rotation of three cars needing service every once and awhile. Every time I go I'm immediately taken care of and in a very timely manner. If something major is wrong with your car they'll tell you upfront, explain the problems and quote you on the spot. The best part? They won't do a thing until you say so. And, if you say no, they'll make sure to note the problem on you account - so when you do decide to fix it, no time is wasted on reassessing the issue. Yeah. These guys are great. As long as I live in LA I refuse to go anywhere else.

I was experiencing a loud noise in the rear of my car that I'd been ignoring for quite sometime as I didn't have a mechanic (you know *that* mechanic that is your go to guy for your car - yeah I didn't have one of those). My dad and brother are both mechanic, but don't live anywhere near here otherwise they would my go to guys. Being related to mechanics has it's advantages, like having them tell me what was wrong with my car before even heading to the shop, and knowing the urgency of the problem. And this one was a couldn't wait any longer problem (the rear driver wheel barrings were shot and I mean SHOT. They were done. Not knowing any mechanics in the area, I reached out to Facebook for recommendations and my friends steered me to Yelp and Funk Brothers. I was hesitant. I'd read all the reviews for them and other mechanics in the area and everyone either loved them or hated them. I finally picked Funk Brothers because they were closer to work (nice quick walk to work after dropping of the car). I told them what my dad and brother suspected. They checked out the car and called me to let me know that it was indeed the rear wheel barrings and gave me an honest and upfront quote, detailing the cost of each part, why it was necessary and the cost of labor. I appreciated how upfront they were each step of the way. What really has Funk Brothers stand out for me is not how upfront they were, the price I got, or the quality of the repairs (heck with anything you get done, only time will tell the quality of anything, right?). It was the little touches. I have wheel locks on my car (for those who don't know, it's basically just a special bolt that you need a special key for so people can't steal your tires. Well I keep my key in a very specific place in my car. When I picked up my car the first thing I did was look for the lock. It was in the exact same place I always have it. This is a small little thing, but for me this is HUGE. One of my personal pet peeves is when people use something of mine and put it away in a different place (I get sooo mad when people put the pots on the pans shelf - yes I'm that person). The fact that they did this shows me that they respect their customers and their belongs. I will for sure be going to Funk Brothers for all my car needs in the future and I highly recommend them.

Excellent service. The guys there helped me out and explained everything very clearly. I was in and out in less than an hour and saved over 50% off what my Honda dealer was charging. They'll be my LA mechanic from now on.

These guys are PRO's! I have been taking my cars to them for over 10yrs, and they have been more than fair with their quotes and the quality of their work. They have all the right tools (even for my Mercedes which most places don't have). They always go above and beyond the job and make sure that everything is done correctly, as if it was their own car. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FUNKBROS!

I used to dread taking my car in for repairs. It was one of those parts of life where I felt completely helpless and avoided doing it so I wouldn't have to go through the annoyance. That was until I started taking my car to Funk Brothers. More than the fast and friendly service and fair prices, what I really appreciate is how they explain everything to you and give you honest estimates. These guys know what they're doing and want to make sure you do too. They've even talked me off of repairs I thought were necessary which is something I never thought would happen at a repair shop. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

I recently moved to west hollywood, so when my exhaust tube separated from the catalytic converter at the weld, I was freaking out because finding a trustworthy mechanic is so hard. Luckily Yelp came to the rescue, and I found Funk Bros. based on their flawless reviews. I had a sneaking suspicion that it could be fixed without replacing the entire exhaust assembly, but was afraid that some dishonest mechanic was going to tell me i needed new everything. At Funk Bros. they explained to me that my exhaust assembly was corroded (from years of living near the beach), but that if i wanted to he could bracket and weld it. It might break in the future, but this fix would only be $100, whereas to replace everything would be considerably more expensive. They did the job in a few hours, and were so cool that i decided to just go ahead and do a bunch of work I had been putting off. I had them flush the oil with a detergent additive, replace the fuel filter and oil filter, steam clean the engine (which had massive salt build up), and flush the fuel injection system. They worked with me a lot on the price because I was doing so much, not charging me labor on a few of the jobs, which was great. Now my car is running better than it has in forever. And it only took one day! Funk Bros. is the best!

Can't say enough. I've been looking for a trust worthy car repair shop for 5 years! I've knowing handled over my car to several shops with the idea i would get milked. Not any more. My car was draining the battery and it seemed random. I figured a loose wire somewhere in the harness. also my door lock stopped working with the keychain. I dropped off my car, two hours later I got word from Funk that it was a simple connection and everything else was fine. Also told me up front that the door was a job they weren't good at. I was charged nothing! ZERO. They could have lied and said I needed a battery or anything. they didn't even charge for their time.

I love, love, love Funk Bros. I've been taking my Jeep there for years (off of a referral I am truly grateful for) and have had nothing but positive experiences. Everyone knows what they're doing, they provide honest estimates, great work done in a timely manner, and they stand behind their work. Plus, they're right behind the Arclight so you can catch a matinee while your car is being serviced... a seriously pleasurable way to deal with the inevitable car drama.
