Professional, knowledgable and trustworthy! Took my 2007 Maxima to my "regular" mechanic in the South Bay for a scraping noise in the right front. After a test drive, he stated it sounded like a wheel bearing. Back at the shop, with the car on the hoist, he "confirmed" the bearing was bad (by using a stethoscope), and the cost was $400. THEN, the owner of the shop (to be Yelped about after i'm done here!), stated the noise was really coming from the transmission, and that it would be $2600.00 to install a used one. Note that i had ZERO tranmission problems (shifting, slipping, leaking, etc) A co-worker advised i speak to Hovig at Funk Bros. The test drive also sounded like a possible bearing to him. After pulling the wheel, he found it was only the axle nut that was loose! He stated the bearing did suffer some wear from driving with the loose nut, but it wasn't "worn out" and didn't need to be replaced right then. Erring on the side of caution, i had him replace it anyway (for way less than $400), and all the noise is gone! I will be bringing the rest of my vehicles here for service from now on.
