Professional, knowledgable and trustworthy! Took my 2007 Maxima to my "regular" mechanic in the South Bay for a scraping noise in the right front. After a test drive, he stated it sounded like a wheel bearing. Back at the shop, with the car on the hoist, he "confirmed" the bearing was bad (by using a stethoscope), and the cost was $400. THEN, the owner of the shop (to be Yelped about after i'm done here!), stated the noise was really coming from the transmission, and that it would be $2600.00 to install a used one. Note that i had ZERO tranmission problems (shifting, slipping, leaking, etc) A co-worker advised i speak to Hovig at Funk Bros. The test drive also sounded like a possible bearing to him. After pulling the wheel, he found it was only the axle nut that was loose! He stated the bearing did suffer some wear from driving with the loose nut, but it wasn't "worn out" and didn't need to be replaced right then. Erring on the side of caution, i had him replace it anyway (for way less than $400), and all the noise is gone! I will be bringing the rest of my vehicles here for service from now on.

I needed an air pump installed to pass the smog test on my out of state truck to complete it's CA registration. It is an older vehicle so I used yelp (as I normally do) to find highly rated businesses as a start to my search. What I thought was going to be a simple fix escalated rapidly into a nightmare. I spent two months searching for a mechanic that could install the part , but I only encountered dozens of failed attempts shop after shop, until someone recommended Funk Brothers. I decided to give them a try as a last resort, and I am really glad I did. If you need work done on an older car / trunk I highly recommend these guys. They keep you updated regularly about the progress of your vehicle, and when they say they can do it, they mean it. Hovig is not your typical shop manager, he actually takes the time to explain things and listens to his customers. Its relieving to have finally found a reliable shop, with dependable service and trustworthy crew. No wonder they've been around since 1925.

**I'm only writing 4 stars, because when I write 5 it disappears*** This place deserves 10 stars. Honesty and integrity is an absolute must when someone like me (who knows nothing about cars) needs something fixed. I went to Funk Brothers for an issue - the owner could have done the job and made about $300...but he made me aware that there was a recall for this make of my car (different model - bu there was a chance my model could be on the list too). While I was still at Funk Brothers I called the dealership I bought it from. I called my dealership - great news - my model also had the recall for the issue too.....and then they proceeded to tell me it would cost about $300 to do it. (Not my definition of a recall)...I told Hovig, the owner of Funk Brothers - and he told me to call another dealer and even gave me the name of the service representative to ask for. The representative set me up for an appointment and said all of the costs would be covered....thankfully I have Funk Brothers to trust (and save me $300) - I can't say enough good things about them.

Terrific service.Helpful and courteous. I had a problem with my car air conditioning. They fixed it so quickly that they did not charge. It was a marvelous gesture. As a result, they will get all my car business.

I can't recommend this place enough. As a female new to Los Angeles, I relied on yelp to find friendly and fair professionals to deal with not one but TWO issues that have come up for my Boxster in the past month. I have a hard time trusting anyone with her and miss my mechanic from up north, so I was hesitant to try any place new. However, Hovik and his team are truly the best kind of business men-- honest, competitively priced, efficient , kind and helpful. I appreciate them so much!!

Still going strong! I continue to be impressed by their awesome service! I'll never go anywhere else in LA. :)

This is the best auto shop in town, I've had my Cadillac repaired here a few times and every time they have done a great job. Hovig is the man to talk to!! He is a cool guy and knows everything about any car and is very helpful. Defiantly a shop you should consider going to.

Thankfully I finally got fed up with the dealership mechanics I'd been going to since I moved here. After searcing around online, this morning I brought my BMW in after the engine light went on. Funk bros. got it back to me by the end of the day. Clean facilities, a pleasure to give them my business.

Thank you !

I came by here the morning after a flat tire. They recommended a plug over a patch based on my flat, quoted me about 30-45 minutes which I was not too happy about since I had to get to work, but they wound up taking care of me right away. $10 out the door in less than 10 minutes. Thanks guys. (Three weeks later and no problems with the plug)
