My good friend recommended Funk brothers to me when I was having trouble with my 96 Blazer. I made an appointment and brought it in for them to look at. I was having trouble with my front end clanging over bumps, and also my rear brakes locking up. I got my diagnosis fairly soon afterward. (I dropped it off on a friday, so had to wait through the weekend) My original estimate included a lot of things I hadnt asked for, so I was a bit confused, but after speaking with them via email, and phone, it was explained that they were just including things that they found during the diagnosis, and that nothing would be done unless approved. We settled on only the fixes that would address the immediate problems I was having. The price for those repairs seemed more than fair considering what needed to be done. I was told that the problem with my brakes was probably (90% sure) the master cylinder, and was told that there was a chance that wouldnt correct the problem, but it was our best shot. I got my truck back a couple of days later, and all seemed fine. Front end was definitely improved, although the steering seemed a little looser than I was hoping for. The brakes seemed fine until a couple of days later when the problem returned. Hey, we rolled the dice... Anyway, I was contacted personally through text to find out if I was happy with the repairs, and I told Hovig that the brakes were still not fixed. He asked that I bring it back in to see what's going on. I have not had a chance to do that yet, but I will update when I do. I think that the crew at Funk Bros has been very up front, and honest in their diagnosis and repairs. Pleasant to work with, and I was never pressured into approving any work I didnt want done. We'll see how this brake thing goes, but I'd definitely recommend Funk Brothers to anyone needing honest mechanics and thorough professional work.
